Joint R&D for climate neutral fuels
The joint project "Demonstrating a Circular Carbon Economy in Transport Along the Value Chain" (DeCarTrans) will start in January 2023. Over the next four years, the project partners aim to demonstrate how around 380,000 liters of renewable fuels can be produced on an industrial scale.
We are pleased to be a technology partner for a climate-neutral future. DeCarTrans is a great opportunity to further promote Europe's largest synthetic gasoline plant, which we have built in TU Bergakademie Freiberg in 2009.
It is a continuation of the 46,000 liters of sustainable fuel already produced as part of the C3-Mobility research project. Previous studies have shown that these synthetically produced fuels enable a significant reduction in CO2 emissions in the existing fleet and can partially or completely replace conventional gasoline.
